i'm playing around with prassi primo dvd v2.0.767 and when i boot it it says it doesn't have any supported drives....so i'm trying to update it and i can't figure it out....i downloaded some rx thing or something but i dont know what the hell that does...anyway...help?

I downloaded a few dolby trailers of the net.

I don't have a dvd-writer, Africa is way behind...

So my any other option is to write the Vob trailers to a Cvd (mini-dvd)

But I'm having some problems


I tried to follow the tutorial on the site about doing the procedure, but

the tutorial only explains the process from the beginning.

In other words , from the ripping of the Vob files from dvd and on and on ....

Like I said I only have the Vob files , I think you must have the .ifo and .bup files also to continue to make the Cvd

So I'm stuck sad.gif

I'm really new at the Cvd thing obviously , and the tutorial don't quite make sense to me

If there is anyone at all that could help me , please let me know !

when i start the game, it plays an fmv and such normally then gets to the input CD key screen
only ... it asks for 2 cd keys .. one for the game (which it takes, since it turns grey and wont let me re-type it) and one for an expansion .. well I dont have the expansion and when it copied the data from my CDs it (obviously) didnt/couldnt copy any expansion data files ...

what am I supposed to do about this? I STFW'ed to no avail...
was there some option I failed to set that would have told it to download the non-expansion binary files?

I'm an absolutely newby and need help!
I borrowed a camcorder (Samsung) and shooted some minutes in a DVD-RW.
No I gave back the camera (I'm newby at all) and I got my DVD-RW... but I can't see what I shooted! Is there a way to do it? Or the only way to do it is borrowing once again the camera and then downloading the content to my PC?
Any help will be apreciated!

I have tried to add subtitles to my xvcd as explained on this site, but they are not appearing in the movie (Vertical limit).
Why?
The subtitles were downloaded in txt format.
I tried saving them with .ssa extension ,but it still doesn?t work.




I downloaded "There's Something About Mary" in .av...


I downloaded "There's Something About Mary" in .avi format...
To convert the .avi --> mpeg, I used TMPGEnc v. 2.5...
After it completed the conversion, I had no video (only audio) on the newly created mpeg...
Just for kicks I decided to burn the file anyway (after I had cut it to put it on 2 cds)...
To burn the V-CD, I used ahead NERO v. 5.5.4.0 on my CD-RW drive...
This worked alright, but the video still failed to appear...

If anyone could please help to notify what I did wrong, or why I can't do this, that would be super... (do I need a DVD-RW drive???)

Afterall, watching a blank screen isn't much fun... confused.gif [/code]

I'm a gentoo user since v1.4 and also windoze user at job :( . I've been thinking that there's too much free software for M$'s OS and that i use it a lot in win dows too (gimp,sylpheed,firefox,.....even blackbox for win ;-) and that it would be a cool thing to have gentoo for win. After searching for things like apt-get for win i've found nothing :cry:
Do you think it would be possible, or its just a crazy idea... I simply can't stand downloading all things by hand. There's gentoo for OSX, perhaps for being a BSDish system... oh well

First I apologize for the long post, but I have read,read and read some more, downloaded software bought software and borrowed software.
running amd 2200 xp with 1 gig mem, 120 gig hard drive, buslink internal dvd +/- r/ rw- cd r/rw-speeds dvd=4/2.4/12- cd=16/10/40 which is a nec dvd-rw nd-1300a. programs are, any dvd 3.2.11, dvd decrypter 3.1.9.0. dvd shrink 3.0. dvd x-copy 1.0.0.1 clone cd 1.1.7.1 nero 6, dvd2dvdr, dvd region lite.. have downloaded and read all guides at least a dozen times. have tried all combo like clone dvd and any dvd, get error: udf 5 65536, same error with clone and dvd region lite. have tried dvd decrypter and nero = eror copy protected, dvd xcopy and nero = copy protected. running with any dvd in background and also tried with region free running in background. attempting to back up monster,inc. can watch on computer using power dvd, can copy files to computer and watch thru power dvd, just can not burn to disk. have been trying for about three weeks and have ruined 50 tdk dvd-r disk. please help. thanks to all in advance.

I was trying the liveCD install. I downloaded and burned the larger iso image of gentoo install. I successfully installed gentoo with 2.6.5 kernel. However when it was time to emerge xfree, it can not find cabextract from the portage. What it does is connecting to a gentoo mirror to get this. My box isn't connected to the internet. I manually serached for the package in /mnt/cdrom/distfiles but it isn't there. Now what? can i just download it from the net and copy it to my /usr/portage/distfiles ? then can i run emerge xfree? thanks!

When installing Gentoo, I normally use stage2 or stage3 for the installation. Some time ago though, I was curious what stage1 had in store for me.
So I executed the bootstrap script, when the documentation guide ordered me to. Halfway during the installation, my computer had some troubles connecting to the server when it wanted to get an ordinary package required for a succesful installation. The attempt to download the package from the server resulted in a connection error. Connection errors happen here so once in a while - not much to do about it. The script ended at this download-failure, no new packages were tried to download and installed anymore.
So I executed the script again, asuming that it would start where it left of. But no! It started to download and install all packages over again - thus also the packages that already were compiled the last 3 hours.

Now I'm wondering if it's not possible to adjust the script in a way so that it can detect if there are already some packages compiled by the script so that the script automaticly goes further where it left of last time.

Can somebody give me information about this? Is the script ment to act this way? Is it something that should be fixed? Please let me know :)
